The Belgian Grand Prix was set to begin the second half of FIA Formula 1 World Championship. Many fans were at the edge of their seats to find out what this race would make out of the championship battle.

Unfortunately, due to heavy rain and for obvious safety reasons, the race was delayed for more than three hours with fans having to wait in the cold weather under the rain. Two laps were led by the safety car and half points were awarded to those in the top 10.

It wasn’t much of a race, but those long hours of waiting left us with some memorable moments both funny and adorable.

THE MACARENA

While waiting for the race to start, the venue managers at Spa decided to pump up the wait with some music in which they chose the Macarena. Spectators and even the Alpine pit crew decided to get their funky boots on.

PIERRE GASLY WANTING SAUSAGES

When Pierre got the message from his radio that the FIA was going to rd flag the race again due to the rain, he joked and asked for a couple of sausages as most of them were going past dinner time.

CHARLES LECLERC AND CARLOS SAINZ PLAYING CHESS

The two were filmed playing chess together in the pits.

A FOOTBALL MATCH BETWEEN HAAS AND ASTON MARTIN

Sebastian Vettel, who stopped by at the Haas pits also participated in a game of football with Mick Schumacher and other pit crew members.

MARSHALLS PLAYING PETANQUE

There wasn’t much to do so the marshalls decided to get creative and have a game of jeux de boule.

ALPINE HAVING A GAME OF CARDS

A few of the pit crew members at Alpine decided to pull up a game of cards. Unfortunately, it was ended because the camera revealed a player’s cards on live TV.

THE PODIUM CELEBRATION

It was a short race, but a hell of a time. With Russell scoring his first podium in a Williams and after everyone sitting in the cold weather, that champagne was very much needed.
