George Russell might take a five-place grid penalty

George Russell’s FP2 run was cut short due to gearbox issues. Williams were using race gearbox for George Russell in FP2.

If they give Russell a new gearbox, he will receive a five-place grid penalty.

Gearboxes must be used for five consecutive events (counted as P3, the qualifying practice session and the race). A 5-place grid penalty will be incurred if a replacement gearbox is used (Pole position becomes 6th).
